ABOUT ME

My name is Debbi.  I am a sugarholic.

It would be fair to say I have an obsession with all things sweet.  But cake is my true love (after my husband and children of course!).

I've been baking since I was 10 years old, recreating our family desserts and enjoying the reaction as people tasted that first bite. My passion for baking and creating unique, designer cakes grew from there. I spent over 8 years working in commercial bakeries where I had hands on learning from many inspirational and talented pastry chefs.

I've been commissioned "with love" by many friends and family to bake their special event cakes and desserts. However it was not until the birth of my third child, that I decided to expand my hobby into a business.

I truly love what I do, from the design process to creating a special edible work of art that will be the focal point of your celebration.  

I've created this blog not only to showcase my cakes, cupcakes, macarons and dessert tables, but hope it may inspire you for your next function, be it birthday, christening, high tea or wedding - or anything in between.


ABOUT OUR CAKES

Have you ever been to an event - a wedding, a 40th, a christening - where the cake looked amazing but when you tasted it, it was dry and crumbly? Or worse, undercooked? Like a book with a great front cover, but no story. A cake must live up in taste to how it presents on the outside.

Here at Studio Cake, we use only the finest, highest quality ingredients.  All sugar elements, such as cake toppers and flowers, are handmade.
